Sligo Surf Experience - Surf Lessons

Join Sligo Surf Experience for a fully guided surf experience.

All the surf instructors are beach lifeguards so the surfers will always be in safe hands.

The surf lessons take place on a space on the beach accessed as safe for the surfers by their surf instructor.

All of the lessons take place in waist deep water between a pair of flags to designate the surf zone.

The instructors will size up each surfer for a wet suit to fit them and provide them with surf boots.

Surfers and then lead to the surf centre changing rooms and can store their belongings in the surf school van in the baskets provided.

Once at the beach, your surfers are guided by their instructors to set up a semi-circle with their boards on the beach. Next, our instructing staff will introduce themselves before asking the class to introduce themselves to their instructors. The participants will listen to a brief safety talk and surf demo before entering the water and enjoying the rest of their surf session.

What To Bring

Each surfer need to bring their own towel and swimming gear to wear underneath their wet suit. The surf schools will supply all the rest of the necessary surfing equipment i.e. Super warm 5 mm tiki wet suits, surf boots and soft, safe learner boards. Surf gloves and hoods are available for colder days. A warm jacket is a good idea even on a sunny day.

Please allow 2.5 hours to visit the surf school. This will include time for meet and greet, surf sign-in, changing into wet suits and getting to the beach for your surf lessons, which includes a beach talk and safety demo. You also leave 30 mins at the end to get back to the surf centre where surfers will use the changing room and shower facilities.
