Bog Safari
This unique tour takes you on a journey through time where you will explore how the dog (or peatland) was formed.
Hear about the myths and legends in relation to bogs while you are on this great hike.
Discover the ancient monastic site along with traditional turf cutting.
The bog has quite unique biodiversity and hear about its role in the fight against climate change.
Along the way you will get to witness some green energy in action as you ramble through the breathtaking landscape.
The lunch/snack break will be on on a hilltop with panoramic views of Lough Swilly and West Donegal - stunning place to eat your food at!

The walk is on track and mixed terrain which can be wet, boggy and also slippery in places.
Duration - 3 Hours 30 minutes

Please Note: A good level of fitness is required as it has a 200m ascent.

We had the most wonderful hike through the peat bogs! Sharon was informative about the area and she shared the environmental impact of the bogs. The scenery was spectacular around Buncrana. Highly recommend!
