Fisheries Watchtower Museum

The Galway Fisheries Watchtower Museum was opened in 2015 after extensive renovations to the building. Originally used to police illegal fishing along the river Corrib, it is now a museum to the wonderful Galway Fishing Industry.

Galway is the city that has everything. It has long been a favourite among visitors, both from Ireland and abroad and it's easy to see why. It is a vibrant city, always brimming with life and there's always something going on. In Summer Galway hosts an impressive line-up of annual events, including a Comedy and Music Festival. The entire city is filled with wonderful pubs, cafés and restaurants to suit everyones tastes. There are the wonderful Galway Markets, where you'll find tantalizing food and crafts and there are amazing outdoor spaces like the famous Eyre Square and Salthill by the beach to relax, watch the world go by and enjoy the many street performers. For rainy days there are many options to take in the culture such as the Galway Museum, 14th Century St. Nicholas's Church and the beautiful 20th Century Galway Cathedral overlooking the River Corrib. You can also take a leisurely cruis along the River Corrib on board the Corrib Princess.
